i'm not sure how we got so lucky, but we are SO blessed to have a God who loves us and cares for us more than we can fathom! he loves us at our best and at our worst. when all our sins are exposed and brought out into the light (the light that IS God), he still loves us enough to choose to give up his Son for us, to wipe our dirty slates clean. as our "baptist-esque" (that means super exuberant, especially for a catholic priest!) father mike would say- hallelujah!!! the Lord, He is good to me.
