in number 3 of the twilight series of 4, the love triangle of bella, edward and jacob turns to a more uplifting and positive note. spoiler alert: as washington is plagued by a string of murders (which is suspected to be new, young, uncontrollable vampires), bella and edward get engaged and jacob refuses to give up the fight for bella's heart. the villain is the same victoria from books 1 and 2, still trying to avenge the death of her beloved james, who was killed by edward trying to protect bella. twists in the story come about as jacob's werewolf clan join in on the same side of the fight as their natural enemies to defeat the more threatening enemy.
overall, the book was entertaining, and i read through it voraciously as i do most fiction that captures my attention. i was disappointed in the story line though, as by page 100 i was already able to predict what was going to happen in the next 500 pages. i'm excited to see the screenplay adaptation in just a short week and a half!
