chosen.

 you picked me.
-a fine frenzy

one, two, three
counting out the signs we see
the tall buildings
fading in the distance
only dots on a map
four, five, six
the two of us a perfect fit
you're all mine, all mine

and all I can say
is you blow me away

like an apple on a tree
hiding out behind the leaves
i was difficult to reach
but you picked me
like a shell upon a beach
just another pretty piece
i was difficult to see
but you picked me
yeah you picked me

so softly
rain against the windows
and the strong coffee
warming up my fingers
in this fisherman's house
you got me
searched the sand
and climbed the tree
and brought me back down

and all I can say
is you blow me away

i love this song! (i think i start 90% of my blog posts with that line,) but i really do love it! the lyrics, the singer's beautiful voice and the melody intertwine to create a capturing story. maybe it's because i'm in love with the idea of being picked. it's quite beautiful when you think about it. first of all to be known- the good, the bad and the ugly; everything all out there in the open; to be completely vulnerable; to let out all your hidden thoughts, deeds, etc. and then it's even more amazing to think about being chosen as you are known. really truly known. and chosen in spite of your flaws. i think that's why women are so obsessed with the idea of marriage, but when you really get down to it, marriage is only emulating this. God is the creator of this perfect picture. He is the only one that can perfectly execute this love, this choice to know us fully inside and out and still choose to call us His children, loving us in spite of us being sinful, broken and wretched. amazing!!!
