i love my honda. her name is willamena. she's the first car i've ever bought, and she's always been faithful to me. her A/C turns on the minute the car is running, she handles curves like a pro, looks small but is deceptively roomy, has a 6-cd changer (compared to the car i drove before that didn't even have a tape player, this is still a HUGE excitement to me), a sunroof AND a pass through hole for my skis. she's a conservative car, but i think her spoiler gives her a little sass, and she's just all around fun to drive - and has an awesome name.
*note: this is not actually my car, but it is her twin sister.
the only down-side to loving my car is that i have to take care of her to keep her running! boo maintenance. i do get my oil changed at regular intervals (though i hate doing it), and i try to keep her clean so she doesn't rust, but MAN i need a lot done in the next couple weeks to keep her healthy!
you see, my baby just hit 90,000 miles. and the last time i got the oil changed they said it was time for the brake pads to be replaced, and possibly the rear rotors as well. this gives me a list of reasons to take her in:
timing belt (with balancing belt, water pump inspection, inspecting valve clearance and checking idle speed...according to my owner's manual)
replace spark plugs
rotate tires
replace brake fluid
front and rear brake pads
rear rotors
that basically means...goodbye spending money for the next year...or, goodbye savings? either way, yikes. that's lotsa money. the radio stations better play some goood songs after i get her back so i can cruise around with the windows down and forget all about the hole in my pocket.
