our church is doing a 31 day prayer ministry(?) of sorts. basically, just asking the congregation to pray daily and fervently for specific things for the church- needs, leadership, all our many ministries, outreaches, evangelism, etc. etc. etc. so every day, i get an email reminder with a verse, and a devotional written by one of the pastors. i got this one today, and really liked it. it was constructed by Pastor Hunt (who baptized me a year and half ago) at the Frontline Arlington campus.
Praying With Confidence

"Dear friends (that is you), if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from Him anything we ask, because we obey His commands and do what pleases Him." (1 John 3:21-22)
Devotional:
A lack of confidence before God stems from feeling condemned. Condemnation comes when we have not confessed our sins. So pray and confess your sins and then have confidence remembering that,
"there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus". (Romans 8:1)
Your confidence is not in yourself but in the cross where Jesus Christ shed His blood to cleanse you of your sin past, present and future. So I beg of you to spend time praying and confessing your sins and enjoy having confidence before God!
