last night heidi, jayne and i went to see Rascal Flatts in concert at the Nissan Pavilion. i was blown away by how incredible they were in person! lately i've had kind of low expectations when it comes to concerts, because the last few i've seen have really just been so-so in terms of performance, but THIS concert was not just so-so.
the whole show was super entertaining- the set brought me back to the 'N Sync days (and i'm not ashamed to admit it) with all the lights, video screens and fireworks, and they are way more musically talented than i expected! they brought in a grand piano and had a makeshift front porch for singing some of their older songs, Mayberry and Prayin' for Daylight. They were definitely "tickling" the ivories. the concert was a good mix of new and old hits. did you know they have 10 #1 singles? i felt like it was just one hit after another; a greatest hits concert.Darius Rucker (from Hootie and the Blowfish, now a solo artist in country) opened for Rascal Flatts and was also really really good. he sang his new single from his country album, all of my favorites off his new cd, as well as some top hits from Hootie. he came back on for the encore and performed Fast Cars and Freedom with Rascal Flatts, which was so fun!
if you haven't seen Rascal Flatts in concert, you should go! i highly recommend them and i will definitely see them again.
