i really should be studying for my perio quiz right now, but this seemed like more fun. the last 2 days have been the best i've had in quite awhile!today and yesterday camilla was visiting me from chicago...she drove 18 hours with total strangers just to see me! talk about a good friend =) i hope she would agree, because i say the long drive was worth it. we had a blast. yesterday we went kayaking on the Potomac, which is something i've been talking about doing for months and the weather was spectacular. God really provided us with a magnificent sunset.
i rowed west on the river and saw the sunset over the water, which just took my breath away, and made me all the more excited to be home on the lake soon! i'd like to go kayaking again though, because i guess if you row east you can see the Lincoln Memorial, Kennedy Center and Washington Monument all from the water, which would be pretty cool.today, cami and i went up to Mount Vernon, another place on my list of "things to do in DC this summer." it was so fun! who knew George Washington had so many little houses all over the place? it was like he had his very own miniature city. my favorite part was that i got to pet a lamb. it was sooo cute. i highly recommend seeing Mount Vernon, i'm definitely going to go there again soon, so if you want to go just let me know.
i seriously love spending time with this girl. she is so fun to be around, and truly has an amazing heart for God, which is so evident in how she lives her life! she really inspires me to love the Lord with my life. thanks for the fun visit, cami, can't wait to see you again in a few weeks!
