the past couple weeks have been absolutely insane!
i had midterms two weeks ago, (all went well- i'm just pleased i passed them all. praise the Lord!) and an unfortunate computer glitch rendered us unable to take our final midterm two fridays ago. that meant that our last midterm (microbiology) was held over our heads for another week until we were finally able to take it this last friday. whew! i'm so glad it's over, but now i have to play catch-up. because of the microbiology midterm being moved, i studied for that class all last week instead of studying my new lecture materials, and unfortunately the next exams in both microbiology and pathology are next week! yikes. can i do two weeks of work in one week? we shall find out...
to celebrate the conclusion of midterms, heidi and i went to the spy museum last weekend. it was so much fun! a super crowded touristy event (which i kind of despise just a little bit, especially now that it's flu season, swine flu is going around, and micro and path are turning me into a complete germ-o-phobe) but worth the $18 entrance, just to see it all. they have tons of cool spy gadgets, one of the cars from an old James Bond movie (complete with guns in the headlights, wheels with hubcaps that extend and have sharp blades on them, and lots of other cool things that i don't know how to name b/c i don't know what they're called) the best part of the museum is that it's pretty interactive. they have you memorize a secret identity, you can quiz yourself on it and they try to put you into the mindset of being a spy. very fun.
heidi and i also did our annual pumpkin carving. this year i opted for one of my favorite super heroes, none other than Batman. heidi made her very own Michael Jackson tribute with a fantastic thriller pumpkin (see fb pics). mia was hilarious when we were carving. the entire time she was eating pumpkin goo. she then slept for quite a few hours, i think she got a tummy ache. so curious though!
other than that, my "free time" has been spent trying to keep up with all my friends who want to hang out (i promise i'll call you back as soon as possible if i haven't yet), catching up on glee, grey's anatomy and the office. i finally got to watch jim and pam's wedding yesterday- so funny, so cute. love it. you don't realize how much tv you watch until you stop watching it. my two and a half hours per week are as much time as i can handle wasting!
back to the books.
